Things to do in the garden during lockdown day 31: look inside a tulip
Tulips are gorgeous bursts of spring colour, so it is worth taking a closer look.
Many tulips open up their glorious cups in the sunshine displaying the insides to the sky. They look like they are about to collapse and then close up for the night, only to reopen again the next day. This is part of their circadian rhythm and optimises their chance of being pollinated.
Here are a few in my garden, from the left: 'Paul Scherer', 'Spring Green', 'Virichic' and 'Ballerina'
