Things to do in the garden during lockdown day 43: plant dwarf French beans

Dwarf green beans support each other, but do better with back up and a decent bit of airflow.

Dwarf green beans are super little doers that produce a lovely crop in a small space, so they make great patio plants, or as in my case can be slotted in into a small space in the veg plot.

They need to be about 15cm apart, I put mine in a circle with some sticks in the middle, this gives the any extra support they might need and ensure I don't cram them too close together. Beans can get rust if they get too hot and sticky later on in the season, this stunts their growth and kills of the leaves.

BTW it's the plants that are dwarf not the beans!
