Things to do in the garden during lockdown day 54: support your local independent nursery

Many nurseries are now open. Yeh! Small independent growers and suppliers really know their plants and need all of the support they can get. Time to top up on annuals ready for some container planting.

Sometimes it is necessary to venture out of the garden to replenish your stock. My local nursery Harvey and Sons is now open. The thing I love about this nursery, is they sell plants, (and veg later on in the season), and nothing else. And, they are only too pleased to have their containers back once you have planted out. My kind of place. They mainly sell at Cambridge market, so I rarely meet another visitor on site in Great Shelford and it's all outside, so no prospect of heaving isles.
