Things to do in the garden during lockdown day 6: Share your seeds

What better way to encourage folk to garden than to share seeds? Sending or giving your seeds to someone, (by posting through their letter box) is a great way to share your favourite cultivars, or encourage a new gardener; particularly as shopping is a no no, and many online sites are also down.

It’s bitterly cold, blowing a hooley and snowing in some part of the country. Perfect weather to hunker down inside and pack up a few seeds into envelopes.

Gardening or going to the allotment is keeping many people occupied and happy during this time of social distancing. There is nothing better than home grown organic veg.

If you’re posting your seeds, remember to check the weight of your packet first. You can also pay for postage online. Mine are winging their way off to my father in law who has just got a new allotment.
