Things to do in the garden during lockdown day 70: it's all about alliums, & planning for 2021!

Alliums are late spring architectural wonders, however some seed easily and can clog up a garden design. It is worth taking note now of what needs thinning or moving and where there is space for more.

The chives are over and I have hedgehogged them back as they can seed like crazy. Others like Purple Sensation, Christophii and Nectoscrodum siculum (honey garlic) are also good at going to seed. I like to keep their seed heads in place as long as possible, so it is worth photographing the borders to work out what to move where before the seed heads get detached from the bulbs. Mine tend to get annihilated over the summer by my over enthusiastic dog.
